Volunteering

Who We Are

We are the volunteers of The Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra — a community of people who give their time to support the patron experience and help the WSO thrive. We take that role seriously, and we enjoy every minute of it. Whether we're ushering at a concert, planning an event, or lending a hand behind the scenes, we do it because this orchestra and the community it serves hold a special place in our hearts.

What We Do

Since 1987, volunteers have given their time and talent to support The Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra. They usher at concerts, help plan the fundraisers and galas that support the season, and lend a hand wherever it's needed, from the office to opening night. Nearly four decades later, their contribution remains essential to the Orchestra's success. Explore volunteer opportunities with the WSO and let us know how you'd like to help support live music in Williamsburg, VA.

Want to Volunteer?

The Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra depends on people who show up, again and again, because they believe in what we do. If that sounds like you, we'd love to have you join us. Whether you have a few hours a month or a season's worth of energy to give, there's a place for you here.

VOLUNTEER AND

join us!

As a volunteer, your help is invaluable. Whether you prefer contributing to a project or assisting with specific tasks, there are opportunities to fit your schedule and skills. You can work behind the scenes at rehearsals and concerts, preparing the concert hall, providing office support, helping plan special events such as our annual fundraising gala, or ushering at a concert…these are just some of the ways you might play a role in supporting our Symphony.
