Hailed as “the genius of the modern piano,” Roberts is known world- wide for his commitment to integrating jazz and classical idioms—much as Gershwin himself did 100 years ago. Debussy’s impressionistic masterpiece paints a landscape of mysterious serenity. We then glimpse a beatific “land without evil” in Scofano’s gor- geous tone poem based on Guaraní folklore. Finally, Brahms’s masterful Symphony No. 1 takes us on a journey from darkness to light, complete with one of the best-known melodies in all of classical music.

Honoring local history, we present the world premiere of "Tewe:iahle" We Remember by GRAMMY©-nominated composer Dawn Avery, featuring Leah Glenn Dance Theatre. This unique collaboration celebrates the indigenous peoples who attended this school and inhabited the land that is now part of the campus of William & Mary.
The season draws to a dramatic close with Dvorak’s beloved “New World Symphony,” overflowing with influences from European, African American, and Native American musical traditions. Join us for a concert that celebrates cultural heri- tage and the universal language of music that unites us all.
